Looks fantastic, But I would like to know what is different under the hood?, is it very different than mark1 version, is there much difference soundwise? and I am looking forward to seeing the SV315Mk2, has that had a makeover as well? and again is there much difference under the hood? I guess I'm impatient, we will know soon enough:) great to see Sonalksis taking the next step.
Well, our aim here, was not to build a new EQ, but to give people what they missed on their favourite one.
The fifth band in the mid, and the new detailed graph utilities, are wishes coming true for a lot of our users, almost, like x-mas.
Other changes, like the new third shelf and the 18 dB added on the range of the LO and HI cut, are other small, but very useful add ons that users of the 517 has wished for every now and then as well.
And hopefully, the extended metering and the text boxes, will make life a lot easier for anyone who needs more detailed control.
Regarding the GUI, some things on the old gui needed to become more obvious according to you users out there, so, the aim was here to implement a more ergonomic and easy to use interface, simple, yet with easy access to all parameters needed for advanced sculpturing without getting in to deep.
Hopefully, we have managed to reach all your dreams, still, without taking away anything that where there before, a Mk2 version is not a new plug-in, it is instead more of the good stuff, but without compromising the daily work of those who already uses the "Mk1" 517.
After getting a lot of questions regarding Mk2 pricing...
As we now release the 719 Gate and the Mk2:s at the same time, there will be an upgrade path for users that owns one of the Essentials plug-ins (SV-315 or SV-517), to upgrade to the complete bundle at a very competitive price, normally, you can't upgrade to a bundle from one single plug-in.
Though, for those who likes their single plug-in, there will be an upgrade path for just one plug-in as well, of course, at quite a modest fee.
And oh, yes, recent buyers of the plug-in(s), will get a special extra discount!
Well, when it comes to ergonomics, as I have said before, I'm not at all conviced that the new knobs are better than the old ones. With the old, arrow shaped, knobs, you can easily, with a glance, see the position of the knobs. With the new ones, you can't, since the line indicating position is quite small.
Anyway, the 517 has got an additional band, so, well, you're forgiven... =)
But on the other hand, the new text boxes, gives you more than a hint about what you are doing, so hopefully, you dont even need to look at the knobs..

Okay,

Interesting!

You won't need the arrow knobs anymore with the new text boxes and the improved graph :)
